Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for simply-utility.co.uk is Simply Web (sole trader). You can contact me about privacy at info@simply-utility.co.uk.
What this site collects
This is a simple information website. It has no user accounts, no forms and no analytics or tracking scripts, so I do not collect your name, email address or any other details through the site itself.
If you email me
If you email me, I use your email address and message only to reply to you. I do not add you to a mailing list or share your details. I keep emails for up to 12 months and then delete them.
Server logs
Like all websites, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs. These record technical information such as your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser type. My web host keeps these logs for 30 days, for security and to keep the site running. I rely on legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and working) as the lawful basis, and I do not use the logs to identify visitors.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies itself.
Links to Amazon
Some links on this site go to Amazon.co.uk. If you click one, you leave this site and go to Amazon, where Amazon may set cookies and collect information about you under its own Amazon.co.uk Privacy Notice. These cookies let Amazon know you came from this site, so that I can earn a commission on qualifying purchases (see my affiliate disclosure).
Third parties, including Amazon, may serve content, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognise cookies on visitors' browsers. Their use of your data is covered by their own privacy notices, not this one.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. To make a request, contact me using the email address above.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on its helpline, 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If the site changes, for example by adding analytics or a contact form, this policy will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
